The Erie Western was a short lived railroad that ran across Northern Indiana from 1977-1979. In those two short years they amased an amazing fleet of freight cars, painted in their dazzling white/blue/green paint scheme with futuristic lettering. When the railroad ceased operations in 1979, the equipment was returned to the owners, who patched them up and stenciled new reporting marks on them. In the case of the trailers, these saw further use in trailer lease fleets. Some can still be seen today transporting goods throughout the country.
